THE FANTIC D'ARPA RACING TEAM IS FIM ENDUROGP WORLD CHAMPION OF THE YOUTH CLASS WITH ALBIN NORRBIN AND ON THE SECOND STEP OF THE PODIUM
YOUTH ALSO KEVIN CRISTINO AND TOP FIVE FOR JED ETCHELLS IN JUNIOR
A victory equal to another does not exist, especially it is not easy to play for a world title by winning it in advance with one more Grand Prix to be held next weekend in France at Langeac. But, what nineteen year old Albin Norrbin achieved with the colors of the Fantic D'Arpa Racing Team in the weekend of 8-9-10 October in the town of Santiago do Cacem in Portugal about 120 km south of Lisbon is all another thing, it is much more than a double victory in a race perfectly organized by the Associção Motor Sport Vila Nova Santo André on a real Enduro course on stony ground, rocks, and three different special stages on sand between maritime pines and immense expanses of cork trees. It was much more than a bet won by the Sicilian Team Manager Marco D'Arpa, much more than a dream realized thanks to the full support of Fantic which made available the already 2020 vice world champion Fantic XE 125 2T with all the managerial staff and technician of the Treviso company led by the CEO Mariano Roman, by the engineers Jan Witteveen responsible for the offroad project Fantic and Gaetano Cocco from the R&D department.
It was the triumph of perseverance, of the sacrifice of a boy who chose to come and live in Italy and the great commitment of the entire work group in the operational headquarters in Brianza, between Desio and Seregno, directed by Diego Morganti with the technical staff. led by Roberto Cesana and made up of specialists Luca Ghislandi, Fabio Poli and driver-coach Giuliano Mancuso.
Norrbin was perfect in this Portuguese race, immediately starting to set the best time of the Super Test held on the evening of Friday 8 October. On Saturday he won the first day of competition, obtaining 3 first, 5 second and 1 fourth in the 9 special stages. Sunday, another exceptional day of competition in the 9 specials scheduled for Norrbin who concluded with the following placings; 4 wins, 5 second positions.
The final of the race was exciting because Kevin Cristino was in command of the Youth, but at the very last special he crashed with Norrbin who did not fail to hit the victory, also making the world title his own.
Staying in the Youth class, Cristino obtained two shining second positions, a sign of his constant growth in this 2021 season with the Fantic d'Arpa Racing Team.
In the Junior Jed Etchells he finished in fourth position twice in the EJ1 with two more than positive sevenths in the overall classification. It must be said that Etchells suffered in participating in the Extreme test where he never managed to be as fast as in the Enduro Test and Cross Test.
