The unprecedented and spectacular track of Lacapelle Marival hosted the French Grand Prix, the twelfth round of the 2021 edition of the FIM Motocross World Championship, with a great audience.
Not an easy Grand Prix for Alessandro Lupino (KTM 450 SX-F) who had to deal with an annoying intestinal virus that gave him no respite for the whole day. Eleventh in timed practice, the Viterbo was the author of a good first heat that finished in ninth position. Good performance also in the final stage where he remained close to the top ten for a long time, eleventh. In the final he suffered a slight physical decline but managed to finish in thirteenth. Alessandro has hit the tenth place in the overall of the day and is always ninth in the championship.
Fantastic performance for Valerio Lata (KTM 125 SX) in the fourth round of the EMX125 European Championship. Having reached the top of the standings in the Teutschenthal race, the Roman started the day in France by setting the seventh fastest time in timed practice. Starting sixth at the start of the first heat, Valerio honored the red plate on his bike and managed to recover up to second position. In race two Lata immediately got behind the tread and, despite a small mistake that made him lose some positions, he finished second again. Thanks to these placings, Valerio took the overall victory and kept the top of the championship standings, bringing his advantage to seventeen points over the first of his rivals.
The MRT Racing Team's journey in the FIM Motocross World Championship continues without stopping. In fact, next weekend he will be busy on the Intu Xanadù circuit in the Spanish Grand Prix, the thirteenth world race of the 2021 season.
Alessandro Lupino: “Today I really have a lot due to an intestinal virus that has weakened me a lot. The heats seem to be truly endless and after the first ten minutes of the race the cramps have given me no respite. I gritted my teeth, gave my best and despite my precarious physical condition I completed two good heats defending my position in the championship. "
Valerio Lata: “In the first heat I started sixth and recovered up to the place of honor. In the second, immediately after the start, I found myself behind the tread but due to a slight burr I lost a couple of positions. I did not lose heart and I continued to continue as I am able to finish second. The day was certainly positive because thanks to these placings I won the overall of the day and I increased my advantage in the championship. "
